The ASÍ Method

At ASÍ, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all approaches to teaching language. We
combine the best practices of different methodologies following the Post-Method Teaching to combine different strategies as needed. This produces the best results that support the diverse needs of our students.

Improving on Traditional Language Learning

ASÍ’s method offers an immersive and culturally-rich experience for learners.

Is Traditional Language Learning Effective?

Language is a live, dynamic skill that is constantly changing – but it’s often taught in a traditional class setting that it makes it difficult to achieve true fluency. Without real-world context or situations to support your learning, how can you truly be prepared for real-world interaction?

A Time Tested Approach: Immersion Language

At ASÍ, we take a different approach to Spanish education. Grammar, syntax and vocabulary are all essential parts of learning a language, but just as important are real-world conversations with natives who can correct and guide you during your journey. Our approach offers regular interaction with native speakers who guide students on the cultural nuances and intricacies of language.

Computer Adaptive: Proficieny Test

Like any skill it takes time, commitment and dedication to progress and see results. Our commitment to you as a language school is to make sure we are helping you progress to meet your fluency goals. This is why we have a partnership with Avant Assessments! For every student that is registered for at least 20 hours of lessons, we provide them with a complimentary proficiency test that will indicate their official level according to ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages). Students will receive notifications regarding immersion trips to Latin America or Spain and private local language exchanges around the metro-Atlanta area to meet local native Spanish speakers where you will be able to practice conversational Spanish and as well help them with their English.

Each free trial is allocated to one student at a time. For families, please register each child individually based on personal schedule for a free trial lesson.

This really depends on the student’s proficiency level and goals:

  • For high school or college credit: we recommend starting with 40 hours of lessons.
  • If you are an adult traveling who wants to learn the basics before a trip we recommend taking between 10 to 20 hours of lessons depending on how much time you have.
  • A goal of reaching some kind of level of conversational fluency, we recommend around 60 hours of lessons at a minimum.
  • For students 13 years or younger, the classes are 30 minutes long.

Yes, absolutely. You may have recurring weekly lessons with your teacher.

Each of our instructors go through an extensive, 3-month training program that covers many topics of methodology/pedagogy. They are all native speakers of the Spanish language and have a conversational level in English.

Please notify the teacher and academics director about having to cancel a lesson at least 24 hours in advance so the class can be rescheduled. No shows are counted toward the class quota. We offer a one-time grace period for any first time incidences.

Impossible! But, if you happen to jive better with one teacher versus another just let our student success team know at [email protected] and we’ll get you set up with another free-trial lesson with another teacher to check for compatibility.

We have an extensive process in selecting our teachers to ensure every student has a great learning experience according to their profile, so we’re sure we can find the right instructor for you!

Of course! Simply let us know at [email protected]. We’ll want to know:

  • Who are you transferring hours to? (Name/email)
  • How many hours are you gifting?

After completing 20 hours the teacher will offer a non-mandatory progress test to check proficiency.

Contact us at [email protected] and we’ll be happy to help you.

What is a typical class like?

The teacher briefly goes over the last lesson to make sure your student is making progress and also reviews any homework assigned.

New Concepts

Next comes the bulk of the lesson, time spent teaching and explaining the new concept tailored to help your student grow.

With the remaining time, the teacher will engage your student in activities, applying the concepts while speaking Spanish in real conversations.
